What is Optimum Start
This scheduling feature is available on all Pelican thermostats. When a scheduled start time is set, the thermostat will auto-calculate when it's done should be demanding conditioned air to reach the desire space temperature by the start set time.
Calculation is based on seven (7) days of previous heat and cool run-time data stored by the thermostat. Thermostats with economizers take into account the outside air temperature and determine if the outside air damper can be opened earlier as a way to cool space temperature, as opposed to using mechanical cooling to achieve the desire space temperature.
- If Optimum Start is enabled On, then the thermostat will calculate how to bring the space to the temperature settings at the selected time.
- If Optimum Start is disabled Off, then the thermostat will set the thermostat to the selected temperature settings at the selected time.
